Privacy Policy
Last updated 24 August 2026
This policy explains what vcloud.tech, operated by Numinous Technology, collects, why, and what we do with it. We try to collect as little as the service needs.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, your chosen username, and which region your boxes run in.
- Billing: a Stripe customer record and your credit balance and history. Card details are held by Stripe, not by us - we never see or store your card number.
- Devbox metadata: the machines you create, their size, status, and usage measurements we meter to draw down credit.
- Saved CLI logins: if you choose to save a coding-tool login for reuse across boxes, we store those credential files encrypted, tied to your account. They are never shown to anyone you share a team with, and we do not use them for anything but restoring your own logins to your own boxes.
- Operational logs: basic request and connection records used to run, secure, and debug the service.
What we do not do
- We do not read, mine, or sell the code and data on your devboxes.
- We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
- We do not run third-party advertising trackers on the product.
How we use it
- To create and run your devboxes and serve them to your browser.
- To meter usage and charge prepaid credit accordingly.
- To sign you in, keep the service secure, and prevent abuse.
- To contact you about your account, billing, or important service changes.
Where it lives, and who processes it
- Amazon Web Services - hosts the devboxes, databases, and stored files.
- Stripe - processes payments and holds your card details under its own privacy policy.
- Coding tools you sign into on a box (Claude Code, Codex, opencode, Gemini, and others) are operated by third parties under their own policies.
Retention
- Account and billing records are kept while your account is open and as long as the law requires afterward.
- Devbox disks live until you stop keeping the box; deleting a devbox destroys its disk.
- Deleting your account terminates your devboxes, destroys their disks, and removes your saved logins and personal workspace. Some billing records may be retained where legally required.
Security
Boxes run in a private network reachable only through our gateway, saved logins are stored encrypted, and access to a box is scoped to its owner. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep the blast radius of any single failure small.
Your choices
- You can delete saved CLI logins from the Account page at any time.
- You can delete your entire account, and everything with it, from the Account page.
- To ask what we hold about you, or to request deletion by hand, email us.
Changes
We may update this policy; the date above changes when we do. Material changes will be made clear.
